Speaking at the West Point commencement Vice President Cheney said today:
"We're fighting a war on terror because the enemy attacked us first, and hit us hard."

Surely he's referring to the wider "Global War on Terror" (or whatever we are calling it now), but the vast majority of the current war is still in Iraq. Iraq didn't attack us first, we attacked them. I can't know what these new grads are thinking, but Bush declared the Iraq war "Mission Accomplished" on May 3, 2003 months before these cadets even entered West Point. Certainly doesn't inspire me that Bush & Cheney, who shirked military service themselves, have so badly botched the war these grads will inherit.
