Carbon Neutral
Climate change is all around
Creeping on us, makes no sound
Always something else to do
The cars, the wars, a bank or two
The answer: easy! has been found!
Leave that carbon in the ground.
Can we resist these fuels so useful?
And live each day carbon neutral?

20250730 Tsunami (?) At Drayton Harbor
2025-07-29 an 8.8 magnitude earthquake off the Russian Kamchatka Peninsula, triggered tsunami warnings covering much of the Pacific Ocean, including Blaine, WA where I live on Drayton Harbor. The NOAA US Tsunami warning system estimated the first wave would reach Bellingham, WA (25 miles south) at 01:10am PST on 2025-07-30 with a maximum height of less than 1 foot.
I sat in my front yard looking out over Drayton Harbor, towards White Rock, BC and took videos in case there was anything to see. The harbor was very calm with stretched out reflections of shore lights. In the shots below note particularly the bright tower near the center, the Oceana PARC building in White Rock, BC some 5.5 miles from my viewing spot. I estimated the tsunami would arrive at Blaine some 16 minutes after Bellingham.
What I saw and recorded was a gradual disappearance and then return of the reflection of lights in Drayton Harbor, which I can only suppose is somehow due to the tsunami.

I Drink Champagne
I drink champagne when I'm happy and when I'm sad. Sometimes I drink it when I'm alone. When I have company I consider it obligatory. I trifle with it if I'm not hungry and drink it when I am. Otherwise, I never touch it -- unless I'm thirsty.

Tolstoy on Kindness
The kinder and the more thoughtful a person is, the more kindness he can find in other people.
Kindness enriches our life; with kindness mysterious things become clear, difficult things become easy, and dull things become cheerful.
You should respond with kindness toward evil done to you, and you will destroy in an evil person that pleasure which he derives from evil.
Kindness is for your soul as health is for your body: you do not notice it when you have it.
Nothing can make our life, or the lives of other people, more beautiful than perpetual kindness.
Be not too serious nor too frivolous
One who is serious all day will never have a good time, while one who is frivolous all day will never establish a household.

Dead and stupid
Remember, when you are dead, you do not know you are dead. It is only painful for others. The same applies when you are stupid.
