Phonon drag effects were previously thought to be small in heavilydoped alloys at high temperature a nd previous models for thethermoelectric properties of SiGe alloys neglected phonon dragcontributions. In this study, phonon drag contributions to thethermoelectric properties of heavily doped SiGe alloys have been calculatedusing expressions due to Klemens, Ziman and others. Neglect of phonon dragunderestimates the optimum thermoelectric figure of merit by about 47percent at 300 K and by about 15 percent at 800 K.
