The thermal diffusivity, heat capacity and thermal conductivity of solid samples of new, Li-stabilized, sodium beta ''-alumina polycrystalline ceramic have been determined in the temperature range 500-1200 K. Unit cell parameters and the coefficient of thermal expansion have been determined using X-ray diffraction in the range 300-1273 K for similar solid ceramic samples which had been exposed to liquid sodium at high temperature as well as for new samples. Some differences in unit cell parameters were found between sodium exposed and unexposed samples. (10 References).
