Lila is Pirsig's sequel to Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Both Pirsig and the title character, Lila, are certifiably insane. Part of his point: so what?
Lila is Pirsig's search for morals. In some sense an attempt to find meaning and understand the world about us. In this sense, it is like religion or Marxism: a structure for understanding events and behavior around us, as well as providing guideposts on how best to behave to navigate the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune.
Intellectual patterns emerge as the highest Quality of all.
Worthy of careful consideration, but keep in mind Pirsig was (or went) crazy himself. It may be better to just enjoy your wine and sunset without thinking too much about them.

Certifiable, but something to say

If you can.
